Daniel Radcliffe join Indie Comedy: Now that the Harry Potter films are coming to an end after nearly a decade, Daniel Radcliffe has to plan his career in a world without the boy wizard. And so far, it looks like the choices he’s made could secure his future. We already know that he’s doing All Quiet on the Western Front and The Woman in Black, and now Variety (via CinemaBlend) tells us that he’s signed on for the indie comedy, called The Amateur Photographer.

In it, he plays a, well…photographer living in a New England mill town in the 70′s. He’s recruited by the town residents to “capture their most intimate moments,” while “battling local authorities and bringing a bit of a velvet revolution to the community.” The film is being written and directed by Christopher Monger, who’s adapting his own novel of the same name.
I’m a great admirer of Radcliffe’s acting work which even in the Harry Potter films, which don’t exactly have the best screenwriting/dialogue, show that he has real range, which has only increased over the years. I’m looking forward to seeing him take on roles outside of that series. All three of these projects, while also adaptations of books, should allow him to grow as an actor even further.
