Little did we know that only one year after the "Harry Potter" series released its final film, Daniel Radcliffe would have moved on to romantic comedies. But that's exactly what the young Brit is planning, according to Variety. The trade is reporting that Radcliffe has joined the cast of the upcoming romcom "The F Word" alongside "Ruby Sparks" star Zoe Kazan.

Before you start thinking that Radcliffe's head has gone straight to the gutter, the titular "f" word is supposed to be "friend," as in Kazan's character only thinks of him as a friend. The movie follows Radcliffe's character after he falls for Kazan but has to hide his romantic feelings from her until she feels the same way.

"Goon" helmer Michael Dowse is directing "The F Word". It's based on the play "Cigars and Toothpaste" by T.J. Dawe and Michael Rinaldi.

We're glad that Radcliffe is making such a departure from his typical films with this movie. He's already proven to us off-camera that he has a wicked sense of humor and also a great sense of levity, but onscreen he's only gone darker since "Harry Potter" with "The Woman in Black." "Kill Your Darlings," which has wrapped filming, was also a drama, albeit a romantic one, so we'll be excited to start hearing more about "The F Word" when production gears up in August in Toronto.

Kazan, on the other hand, has made a career of starring in indies. She had a brief stint in "Bored to Death" back in 2010, but next will star opposite Paul Dano, Annette Bening and Antonio Banderas as the titular character in "Ruby Sparks." She also just wrapped the Joss Whedon-penned film "In Your Eyes."

LONDON – Daniel Radcliffe's post-Harry Potter starrer The Woman In Black did not just draw the crowds but also scared up complaints from the public. The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) said the supernatural tale is the most complained about film of the year so far. The censor, which doesn't normally release information about complaint levels until the full year has played out, told THR the Radcliffe starrer has already drawn 120 complaints, an unusually high level.

Last year's most moaned about movie in the U.K. was Black Swan for which the BBFC received a third less complaints. The Woman in Black secured the BBFC's 12A rating – similar to the PG-13 certificate in the U.S. – which, according to the British censor itself, often attracts controversy. It is one of the BBFC's most sought after certifications because it opens up bigger audience potential. A BBFC spokesperson told THR the full details and nature of the complaints about The Woman In Black would be revealed next year when the body's annual report is published.

It is widely known that a slew of the complaints centered on the fact the film, about a young lawyer who visits a remote, haunted village, is too frightening for children. The BBFC, which describes the film as containing "a number of scenes of supernatural horror and threat" had instructed its U.K. distributor Momentum to shave six seconds from the film, darken some shots and reduce the sound levels in some scenes to achieve the 12A rating.

The 12A certificate was introduced in 2002 in the wake of complaints from school children that the old '12' rating -- no one under that age was allowed in – prevented them from seeing Spider-Man. The BBFC introduced the '12A' rating which allows people under that age to see the film if accompanied by an adult.
Publishing its annual report Wednesday, the BBFC noted that in 2011, a trio offilms classified at 12A and featuring young but strong heroines facing difficult, albeit fantasy, circumstances, dominated its 'postbag’ in 2011.

The films cited in 2011 were Hanna, Sucker Punch and Twilight – Breaking Dawn – Part 1 which drew a combined total of 60 complaints from the public. The most complained about film of all time in Britain is The Dark Knight,  another 12A rated film, which stirred up 364 complaints in 2008.

Daniel Radcliffe gets boozy in Brit duo Slow Club's new "Beginners" clip. Shia LaBeouf goes interpretive (and in the beouf) for Sigur Rós' latest "mystery film experiment." It seems that everywhere you look these days — or at least this week — some big-screen star is popping up in a music video, and the going logic seems to be: the more inexplicable the cameo, the better.

Perhaps celebs view these oddball roles as welcome respites from the more, uh, rigorous demands of their day jobs (memorizing lines, standing beneath lights, sleeping in air-conditioned trailers), or hey, maybe they're actually fans of the bands they're helping out. Either way, we're happy to welcome this trend back — after all, there was a time not too long ago (OK, sort of a long time ago) when bizarre celebrity cameos were commonplace in music videos. And, to be honest, we're sort of tired of seeing Megan Fox emote her way through another Eminem clip. Last year, I joined some other Daniel Radcliffe sites on their birthday projects so we began talking after last year and this year we have gathered 6 sites to make one birthday project for Daniel in celebration of his 23rd Birthday.

Shia LaBeouf recently stripped down to his birthday goodies for Icelandic band Sigur Rós’ new music video, “Fjogur Piano.” Though they might not have gotten completely naked for a music video cameo, many other high-profile celebs have popped up in the music world lately, contributing cameos to the video work of musical acts.

LaBeouf’s nude cameo was a spontaneous one (at least the decision to have him appear nude was). “That’s the difference between working within a corporate system and something that artistically takes you places you wouldn’t expect,” said filmmaker Alma Har’el, the director of the video. “To me, it’s erotic, but it’s not selling anything.”

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has also appeared in a music video, an appearance that was a bit more personal for the sometimes-troubled actor. Radcliffe, who has admitted to problems with alcoholism, including showing up to Harry Potter sets intoxicated, walks around a deserted bar after a night of partying finishing leftover drinks in a music video for Slow Club’s newest single “Beginners.”

“We were only on set for an hour or so as we had a show that night but I was surprised by just how focused he was,” said Charles Watson of Slow Club of Radcliffe’s surprise agreement to appear in the video.

“Perhaps celebs view these oddball roles as welcome respites from the more, uh, rigorous demands of their day jobs,” says James Montgomery of MTV News, adding, “maybe they’re actually fans of the bands they’re helping out. Either way, we’re happy to welcome this trend back — after all, there was a time not too long ago (OK, sort of a long time ago) when bizarre celebrity cameos were commonplace in music videos.”

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has revisited his secret drunken past in a new music video. The young Brit, who opened up about his teenage booze battle last year, plays a drunk in a deserted bar in Slow Club's new video accompanying the track "Beginners."

Radcliffe, who jumped at the chance to be part of one of his favorite group's songs, filmed the video at London's Faltering Fullback pub, according to NME. Singer Rebecca Taylor was thrilled when the actor agreed to star in the group's new video: "We'd known Daniel was a fan and found this pretty cool, but then we met him, got to hang out and chat, and now we have him in our video.

"He is one of the most energetic and exciting people to be around and has been committed to getting the video right and for that we are so in awe. He made us realize how lazy we all are when it comes to videos."

Daniel Radcliffe, Jude Law and Judi Dench are among the stars set to appear onstage in London as part of acclaimed director Michael Grandage's upcoming theatrical season. The stars will return to the West End to appear in the stage mogul's run of five shows to be staged at the Noel Coward Theatre in the 2013-2014 season.

Radcliffe will star in the coming-of-age comedy The Cripple of Inishmaan, while Dame Judi has been cast in Peter And Alice, about the inspiration behind Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland, and Law will tackle Shakespeare's Henry V.

Grandage is producing the plays through his newly launched firm The Michael Grandage Company, which aims to attract new audiences with lower ticket prices. He says in a statement, "This unique West End season brings together writers, actors and other artists in a single venture over 15 months dedicated to presenting work of the highest quality at affordable prices".

The acting heavy-weights are among the lineup announced by veteran theatre director Michael Grandage to launch his new London-based company. The new productions will run between December 2012 and February 2014, in the West End with the possibility of transfers to New York's Broadway.

Sceen legend Dench will star in a new drama  'Peter and Alice', which is scripted by 'Skyfall' screenwriter John Logan. Then from September 7, 2013, Radcliffe will star in 'The Cripple of Irishman' by' In Bruges' writer-director Martin McDonagh.

Law will then play the title role in a new production of Shakespeare's epic 'Henry V' from November 2013. Meanwhile 'Britain's Got Talent' judge David Walliams will star in another Shakespeare classic, 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.

Daniel previously won acclaim for his theatre roles in 'Equus' and 'How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying' whilst Jude was nominated for a prestigious Tony Award for his portryal of 'Hamlet' back in 2009.

The Woman in Black YouTube channel has released a video of Daniel Radcliffe reading the winning ghost story from the competition held last year. According to the press release from Momentum Pictures: The competition was a resounding success with 177 harrowing, spooky stories submitted that were whittled down to ten finalists. Fans were encouraged to vote for their favourite story from 21st December to January 5th, 2012 in what was a fiercely competitive contest. Budding young writer Nicky Torch, 16 from Lancashire beat 177 other haunting and harrowing tales to become the winning entry with her story ‘Fear of Hue’.

Talking about winning the competition, Nicky says, “I entered but I had no idea I would win, I was happy enough to get in the top ten and I can’t wait to see Daniel read my story!” Nicky’s prize for winning the competition was to attend the world premiere of THE WOMAN IN BLACK and to have her story read out by Daniel Radcliffe on the DVD, Blu-ray and Digital Download release of the film.

The stories shortlisted for the final ten were selected on the following judging criteria: creativity, originality and writing style, with the winning tale being voted the spooky favourite by fans on YouTube. Kristin Ryan from Momentum Pictures said “We’re delighted that The Woman in Black has inspired this winning ghost story and to have Daniel Radcliffe read this out is a real treat for fans.”

OK, well, Daniel Radcliffe didn't actually reject Julianne Hough's Valentine offering of a handwritten card and a Beanie Baby, but he didn't respond to it. All of this is according to Hough, who was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night. Hough was on the episode to promote Rock of Ages, her upcoming film with Tom Cruise, but that didn't stop the actress/dancer/singer from discussing how she was once an extra in a Harry Potter film and had a crush on the Boy Who Played the Boy Who Lived.

After talking about Cruise and Rock of Ages, Hough played a game of ladder golf with Jimmy Fallon. I was really tempted to make the headline of this article "Julianne Hough Plays with Jimmy Fallon's Balls," but I thought better of it. I didn't want anyone to confuse the innocent act of two friends playing ladder golf with something inappropriate.
