Robert Pattinson elbows past Daniel Radcliffe Down Under

Well, the world seems to be divided over the debate on which franchisee is bigger- Harry Potter or Twilight saga? And Australia, certainly, favours the latter. Daniel Radcliffe’s imperius curse may have just failed to eradicate the vampire menace as a nocturnal blood drinking mammal has zoomed ahead.
In an interesting poll conducted on book poll, Twilight has nudged past Harry Potter to take the top spot. But, even though, it has been 3 years since the release of the final book Deathly Hallows, the J. K. Rowling penned wizard fiction is breathing down Twilight’s neck as it makes it to the 2nd spot.
But the interesting observation is that Aussies, certainly, have a fetish for vampires and zombies, wizards and elves. Quite a few books in the top 100 feature such vampire or wand=swashing tales. Apart from Twilight and Potter in the 1st and 2nd positions respectively, another book has made it to the top 10 as Charlaine Harris’s Sookie Stackhouse series (which is the core of the TV show True Blood) falls at the 8th rung. Seth Grahame-Smith’s Pride and Prejudice and Zombies also made its presence felt at # 33.
