KATE MULGREW JOINS DANIEL RADCLIFFE IN 'EQUUS'

THE SKINNY: Here's one for the fanboy history books: a Harry Potter and Star Trek crossover. Now the audience of EQUUS will not only get to see Daniel Radcliffe in his birthday suit, but will also get to catch a glimpse of Captain Kathryn Janeway herself with STAR TREK: VOYAGER's Kate Mulgrew joining the cast.

Of course, Radcliffe's HARRY POTTER uncle Richard Griffiths is also set to star in the upcoming Broadway revival of Peter Shaffer's play.

EQUUS follows a disturbed young boy (Radcliffe) who savagely blinds six horses, the psychiatrist (Griffiths) who works with him, and the public official (Mulgrew) who brought them together.

Mulgrew has most recently appeared in off-Broadway productions of Edward Albee's AMERICAN DREAM and THE SANDBOX, whereas Radcliffe and Griffiths were appearing in London's presentation of EQUUS. This is the first time it will be revived on Broadway since it won the Tony Award for Best Play in 1975.

Opening night is scheduled for September 25 at the Broadhurst Theatre and set to continue through February 8, 2009, and will be directed by Thea Sharrock.
